The OLT was established by an Order of Council in 1961 with five Trustees and has four businesses under its name – Brydone Hotel, situated in the heart of the Oamaru main street; Northstar Motels Restaurant & Bar, situated at the North end of Oamaru; Liquorland Oamaru, situated in the business district of the town; and Sports Central Brewhouse, situated at the east end of the Brydone Hotel.
Oamaru has a population of approximately 13,900 covering a large are from the Waitaki River in the north, Omarama to the west and Waikouaiti to the south.
The OLT has two sites that contribute to Lion Foundation Funding, and last financial year the Trust funded community projects to the value of $355,311.
